GIK Institute and HBL Forge Strategic Collaboration for Innovation and Talent

Topi: The Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI) hosted a high-level delegation from Habib Bank Limited (HBL) in a significant meeting aimed at fostering collaboration between academia and industry to advance Pakistan's digital landscape.

The meeting was attended by Muhammad Nassir Salim, President and CEO of HBL, and Professor Dr. Fazl A Khalid, Rector of GIKI, along with senior leadership teams from both organizations. Discussions centered on innovation, talent development, and research initiatives, with a particular focus on emerging technologies including blockchain, cybersecurity, and electric vehicles.

Mr. Salim highlighted the necessity for a workforce equipped with job-ready skills and proposed the joint creation of curricula to close the existing skill gap. The dialogue also explored opportunities for internship programs, real-world problem-solving, and faculty attachments with HBL.

Professor Khalid emphasized GIKI’s accomplishments in sustainable energy and advanced technology research achieved through similar collaborations. He invited HBL to support initiatives like Full Stack Development Bootcamps and proposed financial backing in the form of scholarships and endowment funds to enhance student facilities.

The strategic partnership between GIKI and HBL is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of technological and economic development in Pakistan.
