KARACHI: Governor Sindh, Kamran Khan Tessori, emphasized Pakistan's steadfast stance on national security and reiterated support for Karachi's economic revival during his address at the My Karachi Exhibition on Saturday. He addressed recent terrorism incidents and underscored the international community's growing awareness of India-sponsored terrorism, while also advocating for urgent solutions to Karachi's civic challenges.
According to Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Governor Tessori highlighted Karachi's significant contribution to Pakistan's economy, noting its role in national exports and tax revenues. He called for the city's inclusion in the development agenda, citing infrastructural issues as pressing concerns needing immediate attention. Tessori praised efforts by the Sindh Government and Karachi Chamber to address recent crises, such as the Gul Plaza fire, and stressed his commitment to confronting extortion within the business community.
Governor Tessori also discussed Pakistan's economic challenges, referencing structural reforms and diplomatic engagements as steps towards stabilizing the economy. He invited traders to communicate their issues directly with him and assured them of practical solutions. The Governor reaffirmed his dedication to restoring Karachi as Pakistan's economic hub, while business leaders at the event lauded his active involvement and support for the city's development.
Chairman Businessmen Group, Zubair Motiwala, and other officials echoed the Governor's sentiments, highlighting the My Karachi Exhibition's role in promoting the city's business-friendly image. They condemned recent terrorism acts and affirmed the nation's resilience against such threats.
