Lahore: In a significant move to enhance accessibility and support for differently-abled individuals, the Punjab government has initiated the distribution of Himmat Cards, announced by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on October 4. This program offers free travel on key transit systems and a substantial quarterly financial aid, marking a major step in advancing public welfare within the region.

According to Zameen.Com, the Himmat Cards will enable free travel across the Orange Line and metro bus services in Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi, facilitating easier movement for the differently-abled across Punjab. In addition, 65,000 recipients of these cards will receive PKR 10,500 every three months, aiding their financial stability. The launch event was highlighted by Chief Minister Nawaz personally distributing the first batch of cards to beneficiaries, underlining the government’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for these individuals.

This initiative is part of the administration’s broader efforts to empower differently-abled residents and foster an inclusive environment in public services.
