Lahore: HUBCO Green (Private) Limited has partnered with Pakistan State Oil to inaugurate its first New Energy Vehicle (NEV) Charging Station on the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway. This launch marks a significant step in establishing a nationwide NEV charging infrastructure, aiming to alleviate range anxiety and promote environmental sustainability.

The new charging station is strategically located at the Magic River Rest Stop, one of the busiest travel corridors in Pakistan. It features a 60kW fast charger capable of charging two vehicles simultaneously, providing a 50% charge in under 30 minutes. This development is part of HUBCO Green's broader strategy to deploy charging stations every 200 km from Karachi to Peshawar.

Kamran Kamal, CEO of HUBCO, highlighted the initiative as a strategic extension of HUBCO's long-term vision for the country's mobility landscape. He emphasized the commitment to promote sustainability and environmentally responsible practices in the automobile sector, operationalized through partnerships like the one with PSO.

Danish Khaliq, VP of Sales and Strategy at BYD-MMC, underscored BYD's vision to drive electric mobility in Pakistan. He noted that this charging station launch is part of a long-term plan to establish a nationwide network along intercity routes, enhancing convenience for NEV users.

Mohsin Mangi, CSTO of PSO, stated the partnership marks a milestone toward sustainable mobility, reflecting PSO's commitment to environmental protection and modern traveler needs. The station is part of a broader initiative to transform PSO's retail network into clean-energy hubs.

The collaboration between HUBCO and PSO aims to support Pakistan's transition to NEV adoption and ensure the country's readiness for future mobility needs. The charging network is set to play a crucial role in reducing the carbon footprint and supporting Pakistan's environmental objectives.
