inDrive Promotes Driver Safety with Workshop in Karachi

KARACHI: inDrive, the global mobility and urban services platform, has conducted a Safety Workshop for 50 drivers in Karachi as part of its commitment to safer and more accountable transportation experiences for both passengers and drivers in Pakistan.

According to inDrive, the workshop offered practical education on key aspects of road safety, accident prevention, professional boundaries, and conflict resolution. By integrating defensive driving techniques with modern strategies for conflict management, the training seeks to foster a culture of respect and accountability in urban commuting.

Awais Saeed, Country Manager for inDrive Pakistan, emphasized the importance of safety as a foundational element of trust within their service ecosystem. Saeed noted that the workshop equips drivers with both behavioral training and technology to enhance safety. The program also focused on empowering drivers to identify high-risk scenarios, use conflict de-escalation methods, manage aggressive passenger behavior, and implement personal security measures effectively. The Passenger Safety module covered respectful behavior, safe boarding and drop-off practices, and assistance for vulnerable passengers.

Drivers were also educated on inDrive's safety and protection features, such as Pre-Ride Protection that displays passenger ratings and visible destinations. The app's secure call and chat functionalities, along with AI moderation to block abusive interactions, were highlighted. Information on inDrive's permanent accident and health insurance, which covers both drivers and passengers for various incidents during rides, was also shared.

inDrive aims to create a sustainable and secure environment for gig-economy workers in Karachi and beyond through this comprehensive approach of education, technological advancement, and financial security.
