KARACHI: Sindh Labour and Human Resources Secretary Sajid Jamal Abro emphasized the importance of continuous collaboration between the government and industrialists to drive industrial development and safeguard workers' rights. He highlighted the need for enhanced coordination between the Labour Department and industry to address related issues promptly. According to Korangi Association of Trade and Industry, Abro expressed these views during a visit to the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), where he underscored the government's commitment to improving the business environment while ensuring the welfare of workers.
Abro announced a zero-tolerance policy against corruption and detailed plans for a one-window operation and online portal to simplify processes for industrialists and workers. He also committed to appointing a focal person from the Labour Department to address concerns raised by KATI, including instances of harassment by labour officers. KATI President Muhammad Ikram Rajput and KITE Chairman Zahid Saeed advocated for stronger industry-government cooperation, emphasizing the alignment of technical training with industrial needs and the importance of regular consultations to address industry challenges.
