Interest Rates Stagnant as KIBOR Remains Unchanged

Karachi: The Karachi Interbank Offered Rate (KIBOR) remained steady as of May 19, 2025, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan. The figures showed that the interest rates for various tenors have not shifted since the last report.

The data indicates that the one-week and two-week bid and offer rates are standing at 10.94% and 11.44%, respectively. This consistency extends to the one-month tenor, with figures at 10.97% for the bid and 11.47% for the offer.

The three-month tenor displayed a bid rate of 11.12% and an offer rate of 11.37%. For the six-month period, the bid was reported at 11.14%, while the offer was slightly higher at 11.39%.

In the nine-month tenor, the bid rate was 11.15% with an offer rate of 11.65%. The one-year tenor showed no significant changes with a bid rate of 11.14% and an offer rate of 11.64%.

The steadiness in these rates suggests stability in the financial markets, as the State Bank of Pakistan continues to monitor economic conditions closely. The KIBOR serves as a benchmark for lending and borrowing rates in the country, impacting financial institutions and businesses alike.
