Islamabad: The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chairperson Rubina Khalid met with senior officials from JazzCash at the BISP headquarters to discuss the mobile financial service provider's arrangements for the upcoming disbursement tranche aimed at registered beneficiaries.
According to Jazz Pakistan, the meeting involved Haaris Mahmood, Interim CEO of Mobilink Microfinance Bank, and Arif Chaudhary, Head of Public Sector Partnerships at JazzCash, who outlined the seamless procedures established for fund distribution. JazzCash was selected in February 2024 as a key financial partner by BISP to manage cash distributions, enhancing access to funds through biometrically enabled services as part of a three-year collaboration.
This partnership highlights JazzCash's dedication to promoting financial inclusion, which is crucial for driving socio-economic development in Pakistan. JazzCash also supports the GSMA’s Connected Women Commitment Initiative, aiming to boost female participation in their mobile money customer base to more than the current 30%.
