Jahanzeb Khan Appointed as President and CEO of Telenor Microfinance Bank

Islamabad: Telenor Microfinance Bank (TMB) has announced the appointment of Jahanzeb Khan as its new President and CEO, effective from July 24, 2024. Khan, who brings over two decades of global banking experience and a background in digital transformation, returns to TMB where he previously served in several key roles, including Chief Product Officer and Chief Strategy Officer.

According to Telenor Pakistan, Jahanzeb Khan's appointment follows a comprehensive selection process, emphasizing his extensive experience in North American and Asian markets, and his previous tenure at JP Morgan Chase and Co. Khan’s leadership at FINCA Microfinance Bank as CEO was noted for its success, marked by substantial organizational achievements and growth in digital banking and fintech sectors.

Irfan Wahab Khan, SVP Head of Portfolio Development Telenor Asia and Chairman of the Board, expressed confidence in Khan's capabilities, highlighting his deep understanding of the business, market, and industry, as well as his proven track record in leadership and performance. Jahanzeb Khan expressed gratitude for the opportunity and emphasized his commitment to advancing TMB’s digital financial services, focusing on financial inclusion and user ease in Pakistan.
