Jazz and Engro Corp Finalize Major Infrastructure Deal

ISLAMABAD: Jazz, a prominent digital operator in Pakistan, has concluded a significant infrastructure partnership with Engro Corporation Limited. This agreement marks one of the largest private-sector infrastructure transactions in the nation's digital evolution.

Under this agreement, Jazz's telecommunications infrastructure assets, managed by Deodar (Private) Limited, are now under the control of Engro Connect, a subsidiary of Engro Corp. Jazz will continue to utilize Deodar's infrastructure to provide mobile voice and data services across the country through a long-term lease agreement.

Aamir Ibrahim, the CEO of Jazz, highlighted the strategic importance of this milestone for the company as it shifts towards a digital-first approach. This move supports Jazz's transition into a comprehensive service company, offering a range of tech-driven solutions including fintech, cloud services, entertainment, and digital health. He acknowledged the support from the Government of Pakistan and regulatory bodies in facilitating this agreement.

The partnership underscores the commitment of Jazz and Engro to enhance infrastructure efficiency and promote digital enablement in Pakistan. Initially announced on December 5, 2024, the agreement has received all necessary regulatory approvals, marking a new phase of collaboration between these leading organizations.
