Jazz Partners with DeafTawk to Enhance Communication for Deaf Community

KARACHI: Jazz has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DeafTawk, a leader in accessible communication solutions, to boost inclusivity and accessibility for the deaf community.

According to a statement by Jazz Pakistan, the collaboration seeks to empower individuals with hearing impairments through innovative solutions, aiming to create an inclusive customer experience. As part of the MoU, the DeafTawk Plus app will be integrated into Jazz's customer care centers across the country, allowing deaf individuals to access real-time sign language interpretation services. This service ensures that when deaf customers visit a Jazz facility, they are connected to a qualified interpreter using a tablet or device.

This initiative aims to facilitate effective communication for deaf customers seeking support and enables Jazz's staff to serve these individuals more effectively without needing intermediaries.

Kazim Mujtaba, President Consumer Division at Jazz, commented on the partnership, stating that their collaboration with DeafTawk highlights their commitment to leaving no one behind in the digital age. He emphasized the importance of fostering a society that values diversity, equity, and inclusion through innovative solutions.

Ali Shabbar, Founder and CEO of DeafTawk, described the collaboration with Jazz as a significant step towards promoting inclusivity within Pakistan's telecom sector. DeafTawk, which participated in the Jazz xlr8 premium accelerator program at the National Incubation Center, offers online sign language services to bridge the communication gap between the deaf community and the broader society through advanced digital technology.
