Jeddah: In a significant move to enhance domestic tourism, Saudia Group, which includes Saudia Airlines and flyadeal, has launched eight new daily flights connecting Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dammam to Abha. This initiative aligns with ongoing efforts by the Saudi Tourism Authority to position Abha as a top destination during the key tourism periods of "Aseer Season" and "Saudi Summer."
According to Saudia Airlines, the expansion includes an increase from 14 to 19 daily flights by Saudia and from 14 to 17 by flyadeal, marking growth rates of 35.71% and 21.42%, respectively. The airlines attribute this capacity enhancement to their modern fleet of 176 aircraft. This strategic enhancement is part of Saudia Group's commitment to Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the Kingdom's tourism sector and attract more visitors globally.
By increasing flight frequencies and seat capacity to Abha, Saudia Group is responding to growing travel demand and aiming to enrich the domestic tourism experience significantly. This initiative also underscores the Group’s role in national tourism development and its ongoing partnerships to connect international visitors with Saudi Arabia’s diverse attractions.
