JS Bank Reports Significant Profit Growth for First Half of 2026

Karachi: JS Bank Limited announced a 105% increase in its profit after tax for the first half of 2026, with figures reaching PKR 3.199 billion. The company also reported a 90% rise in profit before tax, climbing to PKR 6.640 billion. This performance has driven Earnings Per Share up to PKR 1.56 from PKR 0.76.

According to JS Bank Limited, the bank saw its total assets grow by 16% since December 2025, while the total deposit base increased by 17%. Non-remunerative deposits rose by 22%, reaching PKR 271.560 billion as of June 2026, and the non-remunerative deposit mix improved to 43%. The bank maintained its Non-Markup expenses at PKR 14,678 million through stricter cost discipline. Additionally, JS Bank completed its sixth Tier-2 Term Finance Certificate issue, securing PKR 3.5 billion in subscription money before June 30, 2026.

The bank reported a net reversal in credit loss allowances of PKR 1,725 million, contrasting with a net charge of PKR 3,269 million from the previous period. Basir Shamsie, President & CEO of JS Bank, emphasized the focus on strengthening core earnings and optimizing the deposit mix, highlighting improvements in credit quality and net interest revenue. Looking ahead, the bank aims to expand its footprint and drive digital adoption.
