Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) experienced a slight downturn as the KSE100 index fell by 294.04 points, closing at 170,447.30. Despite the general decline, a few stocks showed notable gains, with KAPCO, KTML, and MUGHAL leading the pack.
KAPCO's stock price rose by 8.11%, closing at 39.31. KTML also saw a significant increase of 7.13%, finishing at 73.47. MUGHAL followed with a 5.45% rise, ending the day at 95.56.
Conversely, several stocks faced declines, with PIOC, MLCF, and NML among the top losers. PIOC's price fell by 4.23%, while MLCF and NML decreased by 3.05% and 2.77%, respectively.
The overall market capitalization of PSX stood at Rs 19,369.77 billion, with a daily turnover of 1,176.64 million shares, translating to a total value of Rs 53.47 billion or $190.76 million.
Regionally, markets showed mixed results, with China and Korea witnessing declines of 1.1% and 2.2%, respectively. Meanwhile, Indonesia and Malaysia saw modest gains.
The day's trading highlighted the volatility and mixed performance of stocks across sectors, with KAPCO, KTML, and MUGHAL emerging as significant gainers despite the broader market trend.
