Karachi, The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has officially called on Sindh's Chief Minister, Murad Ali Shah, and Inspector General, Ghulam Nabi Memon, to initiate a strong and decisive operation against the bandit groups plaguing the highways of Sindh. The surge in violent crimes including murders, kidnappings for ransom, extortion, and thefts has notably disturbed the peace and security across the region, prompting this urgent appeal.

According to Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Acting President Altaf A. Ghaffar emphasized the critical state of lawlessness, particularly on the highways, which has severely impacted commerce and transportation. The escalation of criminal activities has reached a level where nighttime travel on these roads is deemed highly unsafe, as bandits routinely target vehicles, disrupting logistics and the economy. The KCCI has highlighted that the prevailing insecurity has led to increased transportation costs and delays, putting significant financial strain on Karachi's business community.

The statement further detailed how the bandits, operating from strategic points along major highways, have intensified their attacks, showing a blatant disregard for law enforcement efforts. This alarming trend has not only threatened the livelihoods of local businessmen and industrialists but has also raised concerns over the effectiveness of current security measures in the region.

Altaf A. Ghaffar’s call to action underscores the urgent need for a comprehensive strategy to address the menace, suggesting a coordinated effort between Sindh and Punjab law enforcement to eliminate the safe havens in the Katcha area.
