Karachi Initiates Massive Solar Panel Distribution to 200,000 Households

Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has unveiled a large-scale initiative to equip approximately 200,000 households in the province with solar panels, aiming to mitigate the current electricity shortfall and escalating energy costs.

According to Zameen.Com, during a recent press conference, CM Shah detailed the Solar Energy Project which will see these solar panels provided to residential units. The initiative, launched in collaboration with the World Bank, seeks to pivot towards sustainable energy solutions by also converting all government buildings and properties to solar power. This strategic transition is anticipated to reduce operational expenses and significantly decrease carbon emissions, aligning with the provincial government’s broader strategy to address the urgent energy needs through sustainable means.
