Karachi Intercity Bus Stands Consolidated to Super Highway Terminal

Karachi: In a significant overhaul of the city’s transportation infrastructure, the Sindh government has relocated all intercity bus stands from various parts of Karachi to a single, centralized location at the Super Highway bus terminal.

According to Zameen.Com, the move affected 267 unauthorized bus terminals across Karachi, with 35 buses temporarily detained for failing to comply with the new regulations. These buses were released after their owners committed to adhering to the updated rules. The government has warned that continued non-compliance could lead to the cancellation of route permits. Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi, along with officials from the Transport Department and Traffic Police, conducted a meeting where these changes were finalized.

Further adjustments include the closure of bus stands at key locations such as Saddar, MA Jinnah Road, Cantt Station, and Qayyumabad. To facilitate passengers affected by these closures, a free shuttle service has been introduced to transport them to the new terminal on the Super Highway.
