Karachi Mourns Death of Child in Tragic Incident

Karachi: The President of the United Business Group, Zubair Tufail, has voiced profound sorrow over the tragic incident at NIPA Chowrangi, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, where a three-and-a-half-year-old child tragically lost his life. Tufail criticized the absence of government machinery, highlighting that rescue efforts were led by organizations like Chhipa and Edhi and supported by local citizens who collected donations for excavation equipment. The incident has left the city in mourning, with Tufail demanding accountability for the apparent failures and negligence by authorities.

Tufail emphasized the frequency of such tragic events in Karachi, noting that children have died in similar circumstances before, with no one taking responsibility. He expressed concern over the city's deteriorating infrastructure, citing roads unfit for driving, a poor sewage system, and open manholes that pose significant dangers to residents. Despite Karachi's economic importance, Tufail pointed out that the city's infrastructure remains neglected.

In response to the tragedy, Tufail called on Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab to hold negligent officials accountable, irrespective of their political affiliations.
