Karachi Police and NKATI Commit to Enhanced Security Measures in Industrial Area

Karachi: In a concerted effort to curb crime rates, DIG Police (West) Irfan Baloch, alongside NKATI President Faisal Moiz Khan, has pledged to implement joint security measures in the North Karachi industrial area. This initiative aims to foster a safer environment conducive to business and industrial activities.

According to North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry, DIG Baloch emphasized the commitment during a visit to NKATI, where he addressed industrialists and businesspeople. The initiative, guided by IG Police Ghulam Nabi Memon and Additional IG Karachi Javed Alam Odho, seeks to eradicate crime and discourage illegal activities in the area. DIG Baloch highlighted the modernization of the policing system with advanced technology to help reduce the crime rate. He acknowledged the current shortage of police personnel, noting that 1,400 to 1,500 additional officers are needed, a concern that has been communicated to the government by IG Sindh.

NKATI President Faisal Moiz Khan expressed concerns about the inadequate police presence, which he said contributes to a sense of insecurity among industrialists. He advocated for the formation of a special police squad dedicated to the industrial area to better manage the security challenges, especially street crimes like robbery after bank withdrawals.

The collaboration between Karachi police and NKATI includes measures to remove illegal encroachments, which are believed to contribute to the area’s security issues. Both parties have agreed on the importance of ongoing mutual consultation and cooperation to ensure a favorable business environment. This partnership is expected to foster significant improvements in the local law and order situation, providing a more secure atmosphere for the thousands who visit the industrial area daily for business and employment.
