Karachi: Provincial Minister Jam Ikramullah Dharejo has unveiled plans for the construction of two new flyovers in Karachi’s industrial zones, to be developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) mode.
According to Zameen.Com, the project will cost over PKR 10 billion and is intended to ease traffic congestion and enhance connectivity at critical industrial junctures. The flyovers, planned for Ghani Chowrangi and Siemens Chowrangi, will see the Sindh government contributing PKR 1.4 billion, with the balance covered by private sector partners. Minister Dharejo stated that the construction is expected to take about 24 months, aiming to significantly reduce travel delays for industrialists and facilitate smoother transport within the area.
The meeting discussing these developments included Secretary for Industries and Commerce Muhammad Yasin Shar Baloch, Managing Director of SITE Ghazanfar Ali Qadri, and other senior officials. They focused on the technical details and the timeline of the construction, reinforcing the government’s dedication to fostering industrial growth through strategic infrastructure improvements in partnership with the private sector.
