Karachi: The 21st edition of Pharma Asia, Pakistan’s leading pharmaceutical industry exhibition, is scheduled to take place from August 20-22, 2024, at the Karachi Expo Centre. Organized by Ecommerce Gateway, the event will host over 200 companies from 15 countries, showcasing a range of new pharmaceutical products, technologies, and services.

According to Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan, the expo will feature a significant presence from China with a dedicated pavilion, alongside other international exhibitors, fostering opportunities for global partnerships. The event will commence with a keynote from Asim Rauf, CEO of the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan, who will discuss regulatory developments and industry trends. The shift towards local pharmaceutical production, which now meets most of the national demand, highlights the sector’s growth and the pivotal role of the Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers’ Association (PPMA) in promoting industry standards.

This year’s Pharma Asia is set against the backdrop of recent governmental deregulations that have enhanced profitability prospects for non-essential medicines, encouraging innovation and competition. The Special Investment Facilitation Council’s initiatives have further bolstered the industry’s expansion, making this event a critical platform for stakeholders aiming to navigate the evolving pharmaceutical landscape and capitalize on emerging business opportunities.
