`Karachi Transformation Plan Approved by Sindh Government: Aiming for Sustainable Development and Economic Revival`

KARACHI: The Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) has expressed strong support for the Sindh government's recent approval of the Karachi Transformation Plan, viewing it as a significant step toward the city's sustainable development and economic renewal. This initiative, backed by various stakeholders, is anticipated to address Karachi's long-standing urban and infrastructure challenges.

KATI President Muhammad Ikram Rajput and Acting Patron-in-Chief Zubair Chhaya have praised Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and the Sindh government for their coordinated efforts in approving the comprehensive plan. They also lauded the involvement of the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO), the Local Government Department, and the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation in this forward-looking initiative.

Rajput emphasized the urgent need for a well-planned development strategy in Karachi, which serves as Pakistan's economic and commercial hub. He highlighted the plan's potential to significantly upgrade urban infrastructure, including transportation networks and civic facilities, which would enhance the quality of life for residents and reinforce Karachi's economic status.

Chhaya pointed out the substantial financial commitment, which includes Rs84.796 billion allocated for 523 development schemes and an additional Rs26.282 billion from the federal Public Sector Development Programme. He underscored the government's focus on quality and transparency in implementing these projects, with the aim of positioning Karachi alongside the world's leading cities.

Both Rajput and Chhaya expressed optimism about the plan's potential to stimulate industrial and economic activities, reduce business costs, and create new employment opportunities. They affirmed KATI's readiness to collaborate with the government in realizing this vision for Karachi's future.

KATI officials reiterated their commitment to supporting the city's development and urged the business community to contribute to the ambitious transformation efforts. The Karachi Transformation Plan is seen as a pivotal opportunity to improve infrastructure and services, ultimately benefiting the city's residents and economy.
