Karachi: In a significant development aimed at rejuvenating Karachi’s urban centers, the CLICK project has been highlighted for its pivotal role in transforming the cityscape. Sindh’s Additional Chief Secretary for Local Government, Khalid Haider Shah, praised the initiative during a high-level meeting at the Urban Immovable Property Tax Office.

According to Zameen.Com, Shah commended the CLICK project's dedication to enhancing Karachi's infrastructure through continuous efforts, backed robustly by the World Bank. During his speech, Shah underscored the necessity for development projects that transcend routine maintenance to significantly boost the city's aesthetics and stature. This vision aligns with the ambitious objectives of the CLICK project, which aims to elevate urban living standards through comprehensive development strategies.

In a strategic policy shift, Secretary Excise Salim Rajput announced that the Sindh cabinet has approved the transfer of property tax collection duties to the Sindh Local Government Department. This move is expected to facilitate regular tax collection across all towns, securing a consistent revenue flow for both existing and upcoming urban development initiatives.

Project Director Asif Jan Siddiqui shared insights into the technological strides being made under the CLICK initiative. He highlighted the adoption of advanced SAP system software across various towns and the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), aiming to streamline operations and enhance administrative efficiency.

The meeting underscored the collaborative approach of the CLICK project, involving multiple government departments and leveraging technology to foster sustainable urban development in Karachi.
