Karachi: The Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) has praised Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab for the timely completion of repair works on the KPT Bridge on Korangi Road, executed by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC).
Junaid Naqi, President of KATI, commended the Mayor and KMC for completing the repairs within the designated timeframe. He noted that the reopening of the bridge would enhance traffic flow, particularly for those commuting from Baloch Colony Expressway and Qayyumabad to Korangi Road.
Naqi recognized KMC's role as a crucial civic body serving Karachi under Mayor Wahab's leadership. He expressed satisfaction with the bridge repairs and resurfacing being completed in a month, adding that both the public and the business community in the Korangi industrial zone appreciate the effort.
He also lauded the collaboration between KMC and the traffic police, which managed traffic effectively by using alternate routes during the repair period. Naqi highlighted the city's ongoing infrastructure projects, noting Mayor Wahab's commitment to development.
Emphasizing KATI's support for Karachi's beautification and development, Naqi urged both provincial and city governments to expedite critical infrastructure projects, such as repairs on the Korangi Causeway and Jam Sadiq Bridge. He recommended increasing resources to ensure timely project completion.
Naqi suggested updating ongoing development schemes on Google Maps to enhance transparency and public access, allowing citizens to monitor progress in real time. This, he asserted, would improve civic trust and provide timely updates on traffic and project status.
He concluded by emphasizing the importance of maintaining quality and ensuring the timely completion of road and bridge projects, which would deliver relief to citizens and help restore public confidence in municipal institutions.
