KATI Welcomes New Leadership, Emphasizes Role as Key Economic Institution

Karachi: At a dinner hosted by the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), Sindh’s Provincial Minister for Industry and Trade, Jam Ikram Dharejo, lauded the organization for its pivotal role in Pakistan’s economic development. The event celebrated the election of Sheikh Umar Rehan, Danish Aman, Afif Rashid, and Mehwish Akhtar to key leadership positions within KATI.

According to Korangi Association of Trade and Industry, Minister Dharejo referred to KATI as an institution of national importance and commended its efforts in boosting industrial growth and economic stability. He emphasized the Sindh government’s commitment to fostering industrial development and praised the newly elected leaders for their contributions.

The celebration was attended by KATI President Junaid Naqi, Deputy Patron-in-Chief Zubair Chhaya, and other dignitaries, including officials from the United Business Group and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, as well as former KATI presidents and notable business figures.

KATI President Junaid Naqi expressed his gratitude towards the new leadership, highlighting their election as a testament to the trust and confidence placed in them by the business community. He paid tribute to the late SM Munir, known as “Bhai Jan,” for his mentorship of many current leaders in KATI and the broader business community.

Deputy Patron-in-Chief Zubair Chhaya praised the new leadership team, describing them as vital assets to the association. He noted their involvement in both economic development and social welfare initiatives, emphasizing that KATI’s members are recognized across various sectors for embodying the association’s core values.

Chhaya also expressed confidence that KATI would continue to foster future leaders, stressing the importance of mentorship and opportunities for the younger generation to advance within the organization. “The new leadership has demonstrated its potential to steer the business community forward,” he said, underscoring the significance of continuity and mentorship for ongoing progress.
