KDA Announces New Industrial Zone in Surjani, Plans Rapid Infrastructure Development

Karachi: The Karachi Development Authority (KDA) has unveiled plans to establish a new industrial zone in Surjani, aiming to boost economic growth and provide significant investment opportunities. This initiative will prioritize members of the North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (NKATI) and the Federal B. Area Association of Trade and Industry (FABAT), offering around 500 industrial plots.

According to North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry, the announcement was made by Syed Shujaat Hussain, Director General of KDA, during a meeting hosted by NKATI President Faisal Moiz Khan. The meeting saw attendance from key figures in the trade and industry sectors, reflecting a strong communal interest in the project. The proposed plots will range in size from 1,000 to 2,000 yards, designed to accommodate diverse industrial needs.

The Director General emphasized the urgency of developing infrastructure to support this new zone and encouraged the industrial community to capitalize on this venture for mutual economic benefit. Faisal Moiz Khan expressed his gratitude for the initiative and voiced additional concerns about local issues like encroachments and unauthorized constructions, which he requested be promptly addressed. In response, the Director General assured that corrective measures would be implemented to enhance the area's industrial viability and infrastructure.
