KHI Awards 2025 Commence Evaluation Phase with Esteemed Jury

Karachi: The KHI Awards 2025, a flagship initiative by K-Electric, has reached a pivotal stage as a distinguished jury gathers to assess the submissions. Now in its fourth year, the awards aim to honor organizations in Karachi that demonstrate exemplary institutional philanthropy under the theme "Khidmat Ka Jazba Rahe Roshan Sada," emphasizing the necessity for social responsibility and community development amidst current challenges.

According to a statement by K-Electric, this year’s awards have attracted 166 entries, surpassing last year’s numbers. The process is overseen by EY, an independent audit firm, ensuring transparency and impartiality. The evaluation involves a meticulous review of the nominated projects by the jury in Karachi, followed by a virtual session to assess remaining entries.

The jury comprises a notable group of experts from various fields, including Javed Jabbar, Baela Raza Jamil, and Shehzad Roy, among others. A second virtual session with additional dignitaries such as Amina Aijaz and Zarrar Khuhro is scheduled for January 28, 2025. The members' expertise spans sectors like education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability, contributing to an inclusive evaluation process.

Participating organizations include NOWPDP, FESF, and the Shahid Afridi Foundation, among others. Saad Amanullah Khan, Chairperson of the KHI Awards Jury, expressed admiration for the work being done by philanthropic groups across 14 diverse categories, highlighting the awards as a platform for NGOs to showcase their efforts through an independent evaluation.

Sadia Dada, Chief Distribution and Marcomms Officer at K-Electric, emphasized the awards' role in supporting organizations dedicated to public welfare, noting last year's 43 project winners. She reiterated the commitment to uphold the awards' ethos of integrity, transparency, and inclusivity.

Since 2021, the KHI Awards have processed over PKR 110 million in electricity rebates and recognized 108 organizations, impacting millions of lives through categories like healthcare and women's empowerment. The awards inspire organizations to celebrate the transformative impact of philanthropy, encouraging others to contribute to building a more inclusive and sustainable future.
