Peshawar: In a move to address the housing affordability crisis, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Government has launched a low-cost housing scheme targeted at providing relief to underprivileged residents with limited financial means. The initiative, which involves an investment of PKR 4 billion in its initial phase, aims to facilitate the construction of homes on owned land with interest-free loans.
According to Zameen.Com, the scheme is specifically designed for residents who already own up to 5 marlas of land but lack the funds needed for construction. With preparations already underway, the Housing Department is set to distribute interest-free loans up to PKR 1.5 million to eligible applicants. This financial assistance is intended to empower homeowners to build their homes without the burden of unmanageable debt.
The structured repayment plan adds to the appeal of the initiative, offering a 10-year period for loan repayment through manageable installments. This strategic approach not only makes home ownership accessible but also promotes financial stability for families struggling to meet housing costs.
