Karachi: The Karachi Interbank Offered Rates (KIBOR) saw an increase across all tenors, with the one-year tenor reaching 12.76 percent on the offer side, according to the latest data. The rates reflect a steady upward trend in borrowing costs for financial institutions in the country.
According to State Bank of Pakistan, the KIBOR for a one-week tenor has increased to 11.86 percent on the offer side, while the bid side is at 11.36 percent. Similarly, the two-week tenor stands at 11.89 percent on the offer side and 11.39 percent on the bid side. The one-month tenor has moved to 11.94 percent on the offer side, with a bid rate of 11.44 percent.
The three-month tenor rates have been recorded at 12.01 percent on the offer side, with the bid side at 11.76 percent. The six-month tenor shows an offer rate of 12.43 percent and a bid rate of 12.18 percent. Meanwhile, the nine-month tenor has reached an offer rate of 12.70 percent, with a bid rate of 12.20 percent.
The increment in KIBOR rates suggests potential impacts on the cost of borrowing for businesses and individuals, as financial institutions adjust their lending rates in response to these changes.
