KIBOR Rates Reflect Stability in Short-Term Lending

Karachi: The Karachi Interbank Offered Rate (KIBOR) data released by the State Bank of Pakistan on May 22, 2025, indicates stability in short-term lending rates, with minor fluctuations in longer tenors. The one-week and two-week tenors remain constant at bid rates of 10.94 and offer rates of 11.44. The one-month tenor shows a slight increase in both bid and offer rates compared to shorter tenors, recorded at 10.96 and 11.46, respectively.

The three-month tenor sees a bid rate of 11.12 and an offer rate of 11.37, indicating a modest rise as compared to the one-month tenor. The six-month tenor shows a small increase with a bid rate of 11.14 and an offer rate of 11.39.

For longer tenors, the nine-month and one-year rates exhibit a more noticeable change. The nine-month bid rate is set at 11.13, with an offer rate of 11.63. The one-year rate, meanwhile, shares the same bid rate of 11.14 with the six-month tenor but has a slightly higher offer rate of 11.64.

The data underscores a consistent trend in short-term lending rates, with slight variations observed as the tenor extends. These figures are critical for financial institutions and businesses as they navigate borrowing costs and make informed decisions in the financial markets.
