KIBOR Rates See Marginal Changes Across Various Tenors

Karachi: The Karachi Interbank Offered Rate (KIBOR) rates have experienced slight fluctuations across different tenors, as indicated in the latest data release. The rates, which serve as a benchmark for lending between banks, showed mixed movements across short to long-term periods.

According to a statement by State Bank of Pakistan, the 1-week tenor saw the bid rate at 11.88 percent and the offer rate at 12.38 percent. Meanwhile, the 2-week tenor recorded a bid rate of 11.86 percent and an offer rate of 12.36 percent.

For the 1-month period, the bid rate stood at 11.84 percent with an offer rate of 12.34 percent. In the 3-month tenor, the rates were noted at 11.64 percent for bids and 11.89 percent for offers.

Longer tenors showed similar variations. The 6-month bid rate was observed at 11.55 percent and the offer rate at 11.80 percent. The 9-month period had a bid of 11.48 percent and an offer of 11.98 percent.

Finally, the 1-year tenor posted a bid rate of 11.47 percent with an offer rate of 11.97 percent. These rates are critical indicators of liquidity and the cost of borrowing in the financial markets.
