Karachi: The Karachi Interbank Offered Rate (KIBOR) has experienced a marginal increase across most tenors, reflecting a shift in the short-term lending landscape. The latest figures indicate a rise in both bid and offer rates from one-week to one-year tenors, with the one-year offer rate now standing at 12.19 percent.
According to State Bank of Pakistan, the one-week bid and offer rates are set at 11.39 percent and 11.89 percent, respectively, while the two-week rates have risen to 11.40 percent for bids and 11.90 percent for offers. The one-month tenor shows rates at 11.41 percent for bids and 11.91 percent for offers. Notably, the three-month tenor has experienced a bid rate increase to 11.47 percent and an offer rate of 11.72 percent.
The six-month and nine-month tenors also show increased rates, with the six-month bid and offer rates at 11.61 percent and 11.86 percent respectively, and the nine-month rates at 11.66 percent for bids and 12.16 percent for offers. These adjustments culminate in the one-year tenor, which has seen its bid rate rise to 11.69 percent and the offer rate to 12.19 percent.
These changes in KIBOR rates indicate a nuanced adjustment in interbank lending costs, which may impact a variety of financial and investment strategies for businesses and investors across the country.
