KIBOR Rates Show Stability Across Most Tenors

Karachi: The Karachi Interbank Offered Rate (KIBOR) demonstrated stability across most of its tenors, as shown by the latest figures released. The rates, which are pivotal for determining the cost of borrowing between banks, showed minimal fluctuations, indicating a steady lending environment.

According to State Bank of Pakistan, the KIBOR for a one-week and two-week tenor stands at 11.40 percent for the bid and 11.90 percent for the offer. The one-month tenor is slightly higher, with a bid of 11.46 percent and an offer of 11.96 percent. The three-month tenor is set at 11.74 percent bid and 11.99 percent offer, while the six-month tenor registers at 12.16 percent bid and 12.41 percent offer.

The nine-month and one-year tenors are recorded at 12.19 percent bid and 12.69 percent offer, and 12.23 percent bid and 12.73 percent offer, respectively. These rates are essential for various financial transactions, influencing the lending rates that banks charge to their best customers. The consistency in these rates reflects a stable financial market environment.
