Karachi: The Karachi Interbank Offered Rate (KIBOR) rates displayed stability across various tenors, with minor fluctuations in bids and offers, according to the latest figures. Rates for different periods ranged from 11.38% to 12.30%, reflecting a steady trend in the interbank lending market.
According to State Bank of Pakistan, the KIBOR for a 1-week tenor stood at 11.38% for bids and 11.88% for offers. The 2-week tenor rates were slightly higher at 11.39% for bids and 11.89% for offers. Meanwhile, the 1-month tenor had bids at 11.43% and offers at 11.93%.
The 3-month tenor rates were noted at 11.54% for bids and 11.79% for offers, while the 6-month tenor showed bids at 11.62% and offers at 11.87%. The 9-month tenor exhibited bids at 11.76% and offers at 12.26%. Finally, the 1-year tenor, the longest period reported, recorded bids at 11.80% and offers at 12.30%.
The State Bank of Pakistan regularly publishes these rates, providing a benchmark for lending and borrowing within the banking sector. The current figures suggest a stable interest rate environment, which can impact various economic activities including loans, investments, and savings.
