Peshawar: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has unveiled a new initiative that offers cash rewards to citizens who help identify tax fraud, aiming to enhance the integrity of the tax system and ensure compliance with the law.
According to Zameen.Com, the program guarantees confidentiality for whistleblowers and is part of a broader strategy to combat tax evasion in the region. The announcement was made by the Advisor to the Chief Minister for Finance, Muzammil Aslam, during a visit to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA). Aslam highlighted that regulations supporting the initiative are nearly finalized and emphasized the government’s commitment to taking strict actions against tax offenders based on citizen reports.
The specifics of the cash rewards are expected to be determined shortly. KPRA Director General Fouzia Iqbal also provided updates on the province’s revenue performance for the first two months of the financial year during the visit.
