Karachi: The KSE-100 index ended the trading session with a downturn, shedding 1,199 points to close at 186,256, after experiencing significant volatility. The index began the day with a positive start, reaching an intraday high of 672 points before plunging to a low of 1,266 points. Trading volumes saw a slight improvement, rising by approximately 1% compared to the previous session's activity.
According to AKD Securities Limited, despite the day's decline, momentum indicators continue to support bullish sentiment. The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) remains above its signal line, sustaining a bullish stance since a crossover occurred 15 trading sessions ago. During this period, the KSE-100 has advanced by 8.04%, navigating within a range of 170,947 to 188,127. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) has slightly eased from a recent peak, standing at 69.28, which still indicates positive momentum. Moreover, the daily Parabolic SAR remains below the current index level, signaling that the broader upward trend is still intact.
The technical outlook identifies immediate support at 185,800, with the potential for further decline to 185,100 and 184,000 if breached. On the upside, resistance levels are projected at 188,000, followed by 188,600 and 189,800. Accumulating positions with risk management below the support zone is advised.
