KSE-100 Expected to Gain Momentum as Middle East Tensions Ease

Karachi: The KSE-100 Index is anticipated to gain momentum following the easing of tensions in the Middle East, amid improving macroeconomic indicators in Pakistan. This shift is expected to direct investor attention toward equities, potentially bolstering market performance.

According to AKD Securities Limited, the KSE-100 Index experienced a positive turn in August, driven by improving economic indicators and corporate results surpassing expectations. Enhanced liquidity also contributed to this upward trend. Notably, the refineries, exploration and production, and oil marketing company sectors delivered the most substantial positive returns. This was primarily due to higher oil prices, anticipated resolution of circular debt, increased cracking spreads, and reduced reliance on RLNG imports.
