KSE-100 Experiences Volatile Trading Session, Closes Marginally Lower

Islamabad: The KSE-100 index witnessed a turbulent trading day, fluctuating between an intraday high of 1,016 and a low of 221 points before ultimately closing with a negligible decrease of 3 points at 156,178.

Trading activity saw a slight downturn, with volumes contracting by 13% compared to the preceding session. Technical indicators suggest a bearish trend, with the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) histogram residing below its signal line, a crossover that occurred two sessions prior. Despite this, the index has appreciated by 0.51% since the crossover, oscillating between 157,197 and 154,486.

Chart examination reveals immediate support situated at 155,800. A breach below this threshold could potentially catalyze further decline, targeting 155,300 and 154,600. Conversely, barriers are projected at 156,500, followed by supplementary obstacles at 156,900 and 157,200. Analysts advise accumulating holdings near the designated support zone, mindful of the downside risk beneath it.
