KSE-100 Index Closes 1,117 Points Lower Amid Volatile Trading Session

Karachi: The KSE-100 index faced a volatile trading session, opening positively but closing 1,117 points down at 177,083. Trading volumes increased by approximately 3% compared to the previous session.

According to AKD Securities Limited, the index saw fluctuations between an intraday high of 569 points and a low of 1,157 points. The KSE-100 closed 47.5% below its upper Bollinger Band, with the bands 33.02% narrower than usual, indicating subdued volatility. The market recorded 23 bullish and 27 bearish sessions over the past 50 trading days, leading to a net of four negative closes. The RSI stands at 50.69, reflecting balanced momentum, and the index is consolidating around its 21-day Simple Moving Average at 177,245. A decisive move above or below this level could determine the next market direction.

Technical analysis suggests immediate support at 177,000, with further declines possible to 175,500 and 174,300 if breached. Resistance levels are expected at 178,800, followed by 179,800 and 181,000. Accumulating positions with defined risks below the support zone is recommended.
