KSE-100 Index Closes Higher Amid Volatile Trading Session

Karachi: The KSE-100 index experienced a volatile trading session, opening positively but fluctuating throughout the day before closing 266 points higher at 170,765. Despite the gains, market participation weakened, with trading volumes decreasing by approximately 33% from the previous session.

According to AKD Securities Limited, the past 10 trading sessions have seen a net count of two bullish candles, indicating a positive underlying bias. The index closed 39.6% above the lower Bollinger Band, with the bands themselves 39.44% narrower than usual, suggesting compressed volatility. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) stood at 43.06, below the neutral threshold, while volume indicators pointed to moderate outflows from the KSE-100, signaling a mildly bearish volume trend.

From a technical standpoint, immediate support is identified at 170,500, with potential declines extending to 169,400 and 168,800 if breached. Resistance is anticipated at 171,500, 172,000, and 172,800. It is advised to accumulate positions with risks defined below the support zone.
