KSE-100 Index Closes Lower Amid High Volatility, Potential Short-Term Pullback Expected

Karachi: The KSE-100 Index witnessed significant volatility during its latest trading session, opening weak and experiencing sharp intraday fluctuations. The index reached an intraday high of 1,546 points before plunging to a low of 3,784 points, ultimately closing 1,433 points lower at 166,259. Trading volumes surged by 69% compared to the previous session, indicating increased market participation.

According to AKD Securities Limited, the KSE-100 concluded the session below the lower Bollinger Band by 2.5%. This positioning, combined with an ongoing steep downtrend, suggests that further downside risk remains. However, a short-term pullback within the Bollinger Bands is still possible. The Bands are currently 90.50% wider than usual, reflecting exceptionally high volatility compared to the index's typical range.
