KSE-100 Index Closes Lower Amid Volatile Trading

Karachi: The KSE-100 index experienced a day of volatile trading, closing 207 points lower at 180,105 despite an initial positive start. The session saw the index reach an intraday high of 1,123 points and a low of 275 points. Market participation showed a significant increase, with trading volumes rising by approximately 72% from the previous session.

According to AKD Securities Limited, from a technical standpoint, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) indicator continues to show a bullish trend, having crossed above its signal line six trading sessions ago. Since this crossover, the index has seen a marginal gain of 0.05%, fluctuating within a range of 182,348 to 178,512.094. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is at 54.67, indicating moderately positive momentum as it remains above the neutral 50 mark.

Technical analysis suggests that immediate support for the index is at 179,800, with potential declines extending to 179,200 and 178,300 if breached. On the upside, resistance levels are anticipated around 181,100, with further resistance at 182,000 and 183,100. The recommendation is to accumulate positions with risk management strategies below the designated support zone.
