KARACHI: The KSE-100 Index experienced a downturn in a volatile trading session, closing 1,704 points lower at 174,430. The market saw a significant drop in trading activity, with volumes falling by approximately 41% compared to the previous session.
According to AKD Securities Limited, the index opened on a subdued note and reached an intraday low of 2,030 points. The MACD indicator continues to show a bearish bias, remaining below its signal line. A bearish crossover was generated nine trading sessions ago, leading to a 3.77% retreat in the KSE-100. The index has fluctuated between 173,349 and 183,478 during this period, indicating persistent downward momentum despite brief recoveries.
From a technical perspective, immediate support is observed at 173,900. A breach below this level could lead to further declines towards 173,500 and 171,500. Resistance is anticipated around 176,300, followed by 177,300 and 178,000. It is advised to accumulate positions with a risk defined below the support zone.
