KSE-100 Index Experiences Volatile Session Amid Declining Trading Volumes

Karachi: The KSE-100 index underwent a volatile trading session, opening positively and maintaining its bullish trend to reach an intraday high of 1,148 points. It concluded the session 851 points higher at 185,372. Despite this upward movement, market participation showed signs of weakening, with trading volumes decreasing by approximately 26% from the previous session.

According to AKD Securities Limited, the KSE-100 index has experienced 22 bullish and 28 bearish candles over the last 50 trading sessions, resulting in a net of six negative closes. However, the MACD indicates continued positive momentum, staying above its signal line for 13 sessions following a bullish crossover. Since surpassing its moving average, the index has seen a 7.52% increase, fluctuating between 170,947 and 185,891, in line with the ongoing upward trend.

From a technical standpoint, immediate support is identified at 184,800, with any breach likely extending the decline towards 183,500 and 182,500. In contrast, resistance levels are anticipated at 186,000, followed by 186,800 and 188,000. Accumulating positions with risk defined below the support zone is recommended.
