KSE-100 Index Experiences Volatile Trading Session, Closes Lower

Karachi: The KSE-100 index experienced significant fluctuations during a recent trading session, ultimately closing with a substantial decline. Despite beginning the day positively, the index faced sharp volatility, achieving an intraday high of 775 points before dropping 1,582 points, and closing 1,382 points lower at 182,570.

According to AKD Securities Limited, market participation indicated slight improvement, with trading volumes increasing by 2% from the previous session. Despite the day's decline, the broader trend remains on an upward trajectory, as the index is currently trading 26.4% above its 200-period moving average. Additionally, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) indicator continues to show bullish momentum, staying above its signal line after crossing it 13 sessions ago.
