KSE-100 Index Faces Resistance as Trading Stays Range Bound

KARACHI: The KSE-100 index closed at 177,323, experiencing a slight decline of 48 points in what was described as another range-bound trading session. The trading volume reached 614 million shares, slightly down from the previous session's 645 million shares.

According to JS Global, the index is anticipated to test resistance at the 30-day moving average (DMA) positioned at 177,428. A successful break above this level could target the 50-DMA at 178,835. Conversely, any downward movement might find support between the 176,270 and 177,200 range, with a potential fall below this range targeting 174,416. The momentum indicators present a mixed picture, supporting a neutral outlook for investors. It is recommended that investors remain cautious at higher levels and consider waiting for market dips.

In other market movements, Interloop Limited (ISL) maintains a positive trend with a "buy on dips" strategy, targeting price levels of Rs96.93 and Rs100.49, with a stop-loss at Rs91.00. Meanwhile, Habib Bank Limited (HBL) retains its upside target with a similar strategy, aiming for Rs324.00 and Rs330.06, with a stop-loss set at Rs313.89.
