KSE-100 Index Gains 369 Points Amid Improved Trading Volumes

Karachi: The KSE-100 index experienced a recovery, gaining 369 points to close at 169,969, with an increase in trading volumes by roughly 18% compared to the previous session. Despite the gains, the index remained volatile throughout the trading day, achieving an intraday high of 1,892 points.

According to AKD Securities Limited, the index is currently trading 1.4% below its 200-period moving average, continuing a downward trend. Volatility levels are relatively normal when compared to the average of the last 10 periods, with volume indicators showing a balanced flow of buying and selling activity. Trend-forecasting oscillators remain pressured, indicating ongoing weakness in momentum.

The report suggests that immediate support for the index is at 169,400, with potential declines to 168,800 and 167,600 if this level is breached. Resistance levels are noted at 170,800, followed by 171,800 and 172,500. Accumulating positions is recommended, with risks defined below the support zone.
