KSE-100 Index Sees Modest Gains Amid Range-Bound Trading

Karachi: The KSE-100 index, a key benchmark of the Pakistan Stock Exchange, closed at 180,311 points, marking an increase of 465 points from the previous day. Trading volumes reached 744 million shares, a decrease from the 860 million shares traded in the prior session. The index remains above its 30-day moving average (30-DMA), which currently serves as a support level at 178,806 points. If the index falls below this threshold, it could target the 50-day moving average (50-DMA) at 177,492 points. Resistance is projected between 180,900 and 182,350 points, with a potential to reach 183,634 points, and possibly approaching the all-time high of 191,033 points.

According to JS Global, a financial services company, the recommendation for investors is to 'Buy on dips' with a stop-loss positioned below the 30-DMA. Current support and resistance levels are noted at 179,854 and 180,835 points, respectively. In related market strategies, International Steels Limited (ISL) is expected to continue its consolidation phase with a 'Buy on dips' approach, targeting Rs90.23 and Rs95.85, and a stop-loss at Rs85.55. Meanwhile, Habib Bank Limited (HBL) is gradually moving upwards, with recommended targets of Rs343.39 and Rs345.42, and a stop-loss set at Rs331.12.
