KSE-100 Index Sees Volatile Session, Closes with 1,055-Point Gain

Karachi: The KSE-100 Index experienced a turbulent trading session, eventually closing 1,055 points higher at 111,378. The index opened strongly but faced volatility, swinging between a low of 374 points and a high of 1,300 points. Trading volumes surged by 49% compared to the previous session, highlighting significant market activity.

According to a statement by AKD Securities Limited, while the index is currently 25.4% above its 200-period moving average, it remains below the 50-SMA. The day’s volatility was consistent with the average observed over the past ten periods, with volume indicators showing a balanced flow of activity in and out of the KSE-100, suggesting a neutral position.

Key support for the index is identified near 110,800, with a break below this level potentially leading to further declines toward 110,200 and 109,800. On the upside, initial resistance is seen at 111,600, with further targets at 112,100 and 112,500. Traders are advised to adopt a cautious approach, accumulating positions near support levels while carefully managing risks below the support zone.
