KSE-100 Index Shows Positive Movement Amid Cautious Investor Sentiment

Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange's KSE-100 index experienced a positive shift, closing at 174,930, marking an increase of 153 points from the previous day. Trading volumes also saw a slight uptick, with 627 million shares exchanged compared to the 610 million shares traded earlier. Analysts are optimistic about a short-term recovery, with potential targets set at the 30-day moving average of 177,414 and the 50-day moving average of 178,487. However, caution is advised as support levels between 174,300 and 174,900 are critical, with any dip below potentially leading to a target of 172,259.

According to JS Global, the technical indicators, such as the Relative Strength Index (RSI) and the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD), suggest a neutral stance. Investors are advised to remain vigilant for potential downturns. The report also highlighted specific strategies for Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and D.G. Khan Cement (DGKC), recommending a 'buy on dips' approach with set target prices and stop-loss levels.
